The Paper Stuff

The Water Bottle Labels ~ April

Picture
Another big hit. I bought four cases of water and attached our own label. I printed them on plain paper and put packing tape on both sides, one long piece folded carefully and pressed back across the label leaving one end for attaching to bottle. They were designed on power point and the backgrounds were found through google search of backgrounds. The venue loved it and asked if I would be interested in making them in the future. Sure! It was very easy, cost effective, and made a statement. I would recommend doing this project for sure. My husband helped out with all of the DIY projects. He is an amazing man!!!

The Invitations

I am behind on my updating. With less than three months to go it is time to get this wedding together. Jim and I have been working on the invitations. I borrowed these instructions from another knottie here. They are very thorough directions include what paper and where. We are using the Stardreams Lapis Lazuli (navy blue metalic) for the invites and the Silver for the matts and envelopes. The linen paper used for the inserts and the piece where the actual invitation is printed we picked up at the local office supply store so we didn't have to pay so much in shipping. I'm using a lighter weight for the invite and the inserts. Still firm but not as heavy for mailing.

Invitations ~ April 20, 2011

The invitations were a SMASH!!! Everyone called to tell us how amazing the invitations looked and a couple of people said they had never seen nicer invitations even from a professional. All that obsession really paid off on these. Inside there were four inserts including a map, turn by turn driving directions to the venue, a personalized response card with each quests name and a detail card were the wedding website and rehearsal dinner or other information pertinent to each guest. I used a nice 32# linen paper from my local office supply store which worked out great.

To make the belly bands I used an inch and half width ribbon. Using two side sticky tape I attached a piece of the silver matte card stock 1 3/4" square to the back of the ribbon, a piece of the blue 1 1/2" to the front of the ribbon, and designed a monogram 1 1/4" on the white linen paper to top it off. It's all in the details.

The font for our names is Dragon Wick and the font for the rest is Ales and Wenches. I downloaded them from fonts.com.

Invitations ~ February 27, 2011

Jim is the BEST!!! He took the invitations and had them scored by a local printer. It doesn't matter how it got done as long as it did, right? Then he taped the silver matte to the large piece until he ran out of tape. We are using some sturdy 3M double sided sticky tape. Jim felt that glue implied Kindergarten art project. Today I printed all the invitations so when he finishes with the matts he will move on to the invitations.

Pockets ~ February 27, 2011

I was told in no uncertain terms that I would be doing the pockets. No problem! Then when we get them done and the inserts printed he can stuff them. =)

The inserts will have to be printed one at a time since we will be personalizing each RSVP card. I think I may be trying to do to much but there are worse things in the world to be than and over achiever.
Oh did I mention that I am addressing them with calligraphy myself? I will try to get some pictures up of those soon. Between school and homework I get only two or three finished per day. Then there is the matter of the inner envelopes. I purchased some less expensive plain white outer envelopes from Walmart. I also plan on saving money by hand delivering. Most of the people live here so we will only have to mail twenty or so.

Water bottle labels ~ July 2, 2010

I designed these with MS Publisher using paisleys for the background design. They turned out very nice! For less that $15 we'll have personalized water bottles for everyone. I showed this pic to a friend of mine. She said, "You really need to get a job!"

I've redesigned these to reflect the color change but haven't gotten a pic yet.
