The Apparel

Flowergirl ~ Elizabeth

Last summer, 2009, someone gave Elizabeth a bunch of clothes. In that was a brand new white dress from Dillards. It looks like something that was bought specially for a wedding and never worn. It was too big so we hung it in the back of the closet. The other day we pulled it out and discovered that it will be the right size for her to wear next spring for the wedding. I am going to add some blue flowers or maybe butterflies and a navy blue sash. Can't beat free for wedding apparel!!!

Bridesmaids

Originally I told them whatever they like as long at it was navy blue and they looked and felt great in it. Alise told me kind of what she was looking for and I found this. Turns out all three of them like it. We have a local lady that makes dresses. Tea length for $30 and floor length for $40. We are definitely gonna go that route as it is a brides maid dress and honestly, who will actually wear it again? Well, Alise might, she's very much a lady like that and wears dresses often.

Honey, I know you think I am getting a little obsessed with the planning stuff so you probably aren't actually reading this. But if you are, please stop here. I have decided to post my dress since this isn't the website that we are going to share with our guests. If you wanna see that one go here.

Early on I was just browsing dress photos on the Knot and said oh look honey isn't that pretty. When he turned around to look he screamed, "I'm not supposed to see that!" Thus indicating that he is superstitious and will be waiting until I walk down the aisle. This is one tradition that I think is gonna be very memorable for the both of us. In fact that is how the sales girl at the dress shop clinched the deal for me. She had me close my eyes put on the veil and walked me to the big set of mirrors. While we were walking she laid out the scene...

"You're walking coming down the stairs and looking out the door. Your guests haven't seen you yet but you can see them. You get to the door and the music is playing. All the sudden you see the groom and he sees you. You are walking down the aisle and you hear the ooh's and aaah's. You stop next to the groom ready to give him the rest of your life....

"Now open your eyes. Is this the dress?"

I knew this was meant to be when I got home and discovered my dress was already bookmarked in my favorites. YAY!!!

Also, I love that it is lace up closure, however, getting it home and trying it on will not be a quick venture.

I bought the dress in Phoenix where my MOH lives so I can't wait to get it paid off and ordered that way I can go visit and pick up the dress.

YES!!! This is the dress that I see myself getting married in. It is so beautiful and I look so good in it that you don't even notice all the tattoos. Still gonna have to do something about the syko tattoo that sits just above the neckline on breast. Especially since I am not marrying syko.

The dress is Mori Lee style 2516. I'm excited that it has pearls in the beading because pearls are my favorite!!!
