Bridal Jewelry ~ July 22, 2010

Picture
I love pearls!!! A three strand necklace, five strand bracelet, and earrings. If I find the right broach I will add it to the bracelet, but I think the set looks very classy as is. I spent about $20 for all three brides maid sets, the flower girl set, and my bridal jewelry. Gotta love the DIY when it saves you that much money!!! =)

Changing the wedding colors ~ July 16, 2010

Picture
The longer I look at the red and black the more it looks like Valentines day and less like wedding. That being said we discussed our colors, something I didn't do to begin with, and have decided to change to blue and silver. Chrome would be more appropriate for us but they just don't sell chrome plated ribbon and such. =)

So off to Hobby Lobby to work out a new flower plan. Very little else changed as far as what I have already put together. A quick revision on the water bottle labels and voila, we are now a blue and silver wedding party, with yellow in the bouquets.

Bridesmaid and Flower girls Jewelry ~ July 1, 2010

Finished all four sets of jewelry tonight. This set belongs to the flower girl. She was all smiles at the thought of being able to wear a single pearl dangle earring for the wedding.  =)

Half the centerpieces, bird cage card box, & arbor decorations ~ June 15, 2010

The funny thing is that I bought these red candles and candle plates a few months ago, a set of three. We will be having about 100 guests so that means 12 tables. I had given up on more of the red candle plates coming in to Hobby Lobby so I returned them. A few weeks later I went in on the half priced wedding sale to pick up a bird cage to decorate for a card holder and what do I find? A major Hobby Lobby clearance sale steal!!!

 The candles

These three red plates and three black plates just like them are on the clearance aisle for $1.40 each. Is that meant to be or what? Now I just have to figure out how I want them decorated. Perhaps white candles with color coordinated ribbon around each and opposite color rocks around the base? Jim would like me to keep the black to a minimal. I think black is an elegant color and, well, he just see the skulls around the house. Oh and the fact that my first wedding, a joke really, was in a cemetary.... SO minimal black it is. He really doesn't ask for much. =)

The card box and arbor decor

This is what I went to buy. If I purchase all the stuff a piece at a time I won't have to spend as much in a lump some at the end. Hobby Lobby had their wedding stuff half off so that made this bird cage $10 (the other card box below was $49.95 before sale). A few nice red multi-colored flowers and viola! A nifty card box. Oh but wait!!! What is this I see in the clearance section for 80% off original price?

At first I was just going to get the one in the center but then I thought, for $12 each, there must be a reason there are two just alike of the square ones. Since I had not found the perfect vases to sit on either side of the arbor this must be it. Oh and we have the perfect post wedding place for all three of them.

The bouquets ~ May 13, 2010

Picture
I am going with artificial flowers. I would prefer real rose bushes but they are just to difficult to carry down the aisle. With that having been said, I am picking up nice ones from Hobby Lobby on sale. All of my bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages will be made with the real touch roses for less than $150.

My bouquet will be red with black feathers. I also bought some white pearls to put in the center of each bloom. Each of my three brides maids will have white roses with red feathers. I'm debating a black pearl in the center of their bouquets as I am an extreme fan of symmetry. Can we say OCD?!?

Jim will have a red boutonniere and Elizabeth with have a red rose corsage for her wrist that way she can carry her little flower girl basket.
The rest of the bridal party, mothers, ushers, coordinators, etc. will all have white.
